Detailed 6 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari Uganda itinerary 

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your guide will pick you up from either Kampala/Entebbe early in the morning and start off the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Make a quick stop at the equator line, take photos. After your enroute lunch, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving late afternoon. Check in to your pre-booked accommodation and relax at the lodge for the rest of the time.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, go for a game drive inside the Queen Elizabeth Park to search for wildlife. Depending on what nature avails, look out for Lions, Leopards, buffalo, Elephants, antelopes, among other animals. After some time, you will then head back to the lodge for lunch.

Head to Mweya Penninsular for the boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel. The wildlife visible on the water safari between Lake George and Lake Edward includes crocodiles, hippopotamuses, elephants, monitor lizards,s among others. Return to your lodge for a candlelight dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Get up early, prepare for an early morning breakfast, and start your drive to the south towards Bwindi. The journey takes about 5-6 hours to reach the silverback paradise for an awesome trekking safari. Observe changing landscapes and endless scenic views of rolling hills, mountains, and lakes. Feast on the packed lunch from your accommodation along the way.

On arrival at the final destination, check in at the lodge, enjoy a well-prepared dinner, and overnight.

Gorilla trekking is the highlight of your 6 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari. Start the day with a delicious breakfast, leave the lodge with packed lunch to drive to the visitor center. Arrive in time at the visitor’s center for briefing and assignment to your gorilla tracking group in Bwindi Park. You are divided in groups of 8 and allocated a gorilla family and rangers to walk you in the forest.

Carry enough water for rehydration and some snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, and sunscreen. Spend one hour among the closest relatives of mankind found in the pristine wilderness. You are allowed to take as many photos as you want without a flashlight and following the instructions given by the rangers.

You will walk/trek back to the briefing point for a debrief and also be awarded a certificate for Gorilla trekking, and then head back to the lodge, freshen up, and relax for the rest of the evening. Gorilla trekking is done by travelers of 15 years and above.

After breakfast, you will drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way and upon arrival, check into the lodge and relax a bit.

In the evening, head out for a man evening game drive in the park and keep eyes peeled for Zebras, Buffalos, Giraffes, Topi, Impalas, Elands, and abundant birdlife. You then head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park and transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe

Grab a cup of coffee in the morning and head out for a nature walk in the park with a ranger. The walking safari will have you view animals in their natural habitat from close range. Watch out for animals like Zebras, Impalas, Warthogs, Giraffes, waterbucks, and many more.

After the nature walk, head back to the lodge and freshen up, and then embark on the drive back to Kampala/Entebbe for your flight back home with enroute Lunch.
