Day 1: Arrive in Kenya & Transfer to Hotel

Arrive in Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to start your 9 Day Kenya and Uganda Safari. You’ll meet your safari guide who will then transfer you to your booked hotel in Nairobi. On the way to the hotel, you’ll be briefed about this 9 Day Kenya and Uganda Safari holiday tour. Arrive at the lodge and check in.

Spend the rest of your time at the lodge relaxing and killing the jetlag.

Day 2: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park & Afternoon game adventure

You will be picked up at 8 am from your hotel in Nairobi and transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park where you’ll enjoy your first wildlife viewing in Kenya. You’ll stopover at the Valley viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking views of the dramatic landscapes. From here continue with your drive to your booked safari lodge arriving in time for lunch. Arrive and check-in. Lunch will be served at the lodge, enjoy lunch and rest briefly, enjoy the lodge facilities, followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset, and return to your lodge.

Lake Nakuru ins home to a diverse range of wildlife and birdlife that you’ll encounter during your game drive adventure here. Expect to encounter lions, buffalos, zebras, and wildebeest among others. You’ll also spot various bird species especially the millions of flamingos that flood the lake shores and several other water birds. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive & afternoon transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Start your day with a sunrise game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy exploring this National Park one more time before finally departing for Masai Mara National Park in the afternoon. After your morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, return to the lodge and enjoy a sumptuous meal and a short rest. After lunch, bid farewell to Lake Nakuru National Park and embark on your drive to Masai Mara National Reserve.

You’ll arrive in Masai Mara in the evening and proceed with an en route drive to your booked safari lodge. Arrive at your lodge and check in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Full day adventure in Masai Mara National Reserve

On this day of this  9 Day Kenya and Uganda Safari, you’ll spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Embark a double game drive for opportunities to witness Masai Mara’s iconic wildlife and its natural wonders like the spectacular wildebeest migration. Lunch will be enjoyed in between game drives.

After lunch, continue with your adventure in Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara National Reserve is home to a diverse range of wildlife species including; lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, and wildebeest among others. For those who wish to witness the spectacular wildebeest unfold in Masai Mara National Reserve, you’ll follow the migration trail for opportunities to witness the large herds of wildebeest and their entourage traverse the Masai Mara plains. After your adventure, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning Adventure, fly to Uganda, & connect to your flight to Kihihi Airstrip  – Transfer to Bwindi

An early morning air balloon safari with Champagne Bush breakfast, then a transfer back to your lodge for a morning transfer to the airstrip to board the Air Kenya flight to Entebbe. The flight goes via Kisumu for immigration processes. At Entebbe International Airport, connect with a local lightweight flight to Kihihi airstrip in Kisoro. From Kisoro, you’ll be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by road. Arrive at Bwindi and proceed to your booked safari lodge.

Arrive at the lodge and check in. Spend the rest of your day relaxing at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day early in the morning with breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing and adventure. Gorilla trekking starts at 8 am after a briefing at the park headquarters, you will trek through the dense steep forest searching for the gorillas depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening. The trekking can last 2-5 hours depending on how soon you find the Gorillas, this is influenced by the location where they stayed overnight.

Trekking can be a tasking adventure, but coming to a facial close-up with these close relatives to humans is a reward worthy to earn. After gorilla trekking, in the afternoon time permitting you will go for a community walk and visit the Batwa pygmies.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, depart the lodge and embark on a drive to Kibale National Park where you’ll enjoy your next primate adventure on this 9 Day Kenya and Uganda Safari. You’ll drive through the scenic countryside with stunning scenery and dramatic landscapes.

Arrive at Kibale National Park and proceed with your drive to your booked safari lodge. Arrive at the lodge and check-in.

Spend the rest of your day relaxing at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking, Bigodi swamp, and community experience

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, depart the lodge for a Chimpanzee Tracking adventure in Kibale National Park. Kibale is also referred to as the primate capital of the world boasting a healthy population of about 13 different primate species including chimpanzees. There are over 1,450 individuals with several habituated communities that you can trek on your chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda.

Tracking starts at 7 am with a briefing at Kanyanchu Park headquarters. You’ll be allocated rangers to take you to the forest. An advance team already in the forest keeps tracking the chimps and communicates with your ranger on the radio call, tracking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how far the chimps could be feeding. You’ll locate these primates and enjoy bout one full hour observing them as they go by their day. After the trek, return to the park headquarters and then back to the lodge for a refreshing meal and a short rest.

Afternoon visit the Bigodi swamp, this is a community project aimed at improving the livelihoods of the local people, a local guide will lead you on a developed 4.5km trail through the swamp for approximately 3 hours where you can find several bird species including the great blue Turacos, Hornbills Kingfishers and also Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkeys can be spotted. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Transfer back to Entebbe and connect with your departure flight.

After a morning breakfast at the lodge, start a gentle drive through tea plantations and beautiful sceneries with a lunch stopover en-route arriving Entebbe late afternoon in time to check in for your flight back home.
