Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport and transfer to a hotel Kigali city.

You’ll arrive at Kigali in Kigali International Airport in Rwanda to start your 7 Days Rwanda & Tanzania Safari. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed and received by our representative who will then transfer you to your booked hotel in Kigali City. Along the way, you’ll be briefed about this 7 Days Rwanda & Tanzania Safari.

Arrive at your hotel and check-in. If time allows, you can explore Kigali city or just relax in your hotel room for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali city tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Wake up lazily and enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Kigali. After breakfast, depart your hotel and explore Kigali city. This city tour will take you to visit the Genocide Memorial Museum, local craft markets, Presidential Palace Museum among others. You’ll learn the history of Rwanda and the full truth of what took place 30 years ago.

After the Kigali City tour, you’ll drive your way up to the Northern Province where the Volcanoes National Park, home to the mountain gorillas is located. Upon arrival in the park, continue with your drive to your booked accommodation.

Arrive at your lodge and check-in. You’ll spend the rest of your day relaxing and unwinding at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Kinyarwanda cultural encounter

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, depart the lodge and head to the park headquarters. At the park headquarters, you’ll join other trekkers for a briefing session and letter a gorilla trekking experience. During the briefing, the park officials will guide you on the dos and don’ts while on a gorilla trek, the gorilla trekking rules & guidelines, and the safety tips for trekking gorillas. After the briefing, you’ll be put into groups of about 8 members and then allocated gorilla families to trek.

At this moment, grab your trekking stick and follow the lead of your ranger guide into the forest to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek through the forest is truly amazing as you will encounter various other attractions along the way. After a long trek, you’ll finally locate the endangered mountain gorillas and spend about 60 minutes observing them. You’ll enjoy their playful natures; witness mothers grooming their young ones, and see the rest of the family as they feed all under the watchful silverback.

After your allocated time elapses, you will start your trek back to the starting point from where you will be presented with a certificate of participation. You’ll then return to the lodge for a refreshing meal and a short rest.

In the afternoon after lunch, visit the local communities and enjoy the Kinyarwanda culture; traditional music, and meals. The experience you need not to miss out while in Rwanda. Return to the lodge and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Return to Kigali and fly to Tanzania.

Today, you’ll transfer to Tanzania for your next adventure. Start your day early in the morning with a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, bid farewell to Volcanoes and start your journey back to Kigali International Airport. Arrive at Kigali and board your flight to Tanzania. You’ll land at Arusha International Airport from where your Tanzania safari guide receives you and transfers you to your booked hotel in Arusha.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Start your day early in the morning with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, depart the hotel and start your journey to Serengeti National Park. This long journey takes you about 4 to 5 hours through Tanzania’s beautiful countryside, arriving in time for lunch. Arrive at Serengeti National Park and proceed to you booked safari lodge. Chech in at the lodge and enjoy lunch and a short rest. After lunch, you’ll embark on your first wildlife viewing safari on this 7 Days Rwanda & Tanzania Safari. Drive to the Serengeti plains for opportunities to witness its spectacular wildlife.

Serengeti National Park is renowned worldwide for its large wildlife populations that roam its vast wilderness all year round.  This National Park is home to several wildlife species including lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, and various bird species among others. You’ll also have a chance to witness the golden savannahs of the Serengeti as the setting sun casts a golden shadow over the vast Serengeti wilderness.  Later after your adventure, drive back to your booked safari lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Full day Serengeti wildlife safari.

For those who wish to witness the spectacular wildebeest migration, today offers the best opportunity. Start your day early in the morning with a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, depart your lodge with lunch boxes and embark on a full-day game drive adventure in Serengeti National Park. You’ll track all the African Big Five animals (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant) and witness the spectacular wildebeest migration. Follow the migration trails for opportunities to witness the large herds of migrating mammals. The migrating mammals are usually followed by top predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas that come to prey on the weak and vulnerable ones.

You’ll grab a chance to witness this natural spectacle unfold in Serengeti with opportunities to witness top predators make a kill for a meal.

Lunch will be enjoyed in between game drives. After lunch, continue with your Serengeti exploration for opportunities to spot more wildlife species. As your day starts to transform into night, drive back to your booked safari lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Arusha and departure.

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, bid farewell to Serengeti and start your journey back to Arusha. Lunch will be en route. Arrive at Arusha and transfer to your preferred drop off point (Airport or Hotel).
