Day 1: Travel to Amboseli National Park

From Nairobi, you’ll be picked up and transferred to Amboseli National Park to start your 12 Days Kenya Wildlife and Uganda gorilla safari. You’ll arrive in Amboseli and ejoy a short game drive. As it approaches lunchtime, drive to your booked lodge. Arrive at the lodge and check-in for lunch.

After lunch, embark on your evening game drive in Amboseli to witness its stunning beauty and wildlife. Amboseli is renowned for its giant tuskers and large herds of elephants that roam its vast plains. Day 2: Full-Day Adventure in Amboseli National Park

Day 3: Travel from Amboseli to Sweetwaters

With a packed lunch, you’ll depart from Amboseli after an early breakfast for the drive to Sweetwater Conservancy, sometimes known as Sweet Waters. You’ll drive through the bustling Nairobi through the beautiful farm country of Kikuyu and then to the foothills of Mt. Kenya – Kenya’s highest mountain.

After arriving at Ol Pajeta, you’ll pay a visit to the park’s famous chimpanzee sanctuary to meet its adopted residents and then head out into the park proper for an evening game drive. Later, drive to your booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Sweetwater to Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your lodge, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park where your next adventure on this 12 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari via Kigali City will take place.  Arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park and proceed to your booked safari lodge for lunch and relaxation. Day 5: Morning game drive & Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Start your day with a morning adventure in Lake Nakuru National Park. Adventure various areas for more wildlife viewing opportunities. After your game drive, return to the lodge and enjoy a late breakfast.

After breakfast, check out and embark on a transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll drive through the scenic countryside, arriving in Masai Mara in the afternoon. Check in at the lodge and enjoy lunch.

After lunch, you will take off a game drive through the park in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and other members of the “Big Five”, plus other animals. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.

There are 95 species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, and over 400 bird species recorded in Masai Mara National Reserve. Day 6: Full-day adventure in Maasai Mara National Reserve

Full-day game drives depart at 7.00 am, with your 4×4 fully equipped to cross the Mara plains in search of game. At 1800 meters above sea level it can get cold before the sun rises fully, so we provide blankets and hot water bottles to keep you warm.

By midday, it can become very hot indeed and sun-block lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree or overlooking the snorting hippos which wallow in the Mara River.

As the afternoon draws to a close and the temperature cools, the shadows lengthen and the Bush changes once more. Evening sightings of rhinos are not uncommon on the way back to camp. Even a bad day is a good day in the Mara since undoubtedly you will have encountered vistas, flora, and fauna new to you. Each can be revisited in the memory as you sink into your welcoming hot tub back at your tent.

 

Day 7: Morning and evening game in Masai Mara National Reserve

Start your day with a hefty breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, depart the lodge with packed lunch boxes and embark on a full-day game viewing adventure in Masai Mara National Reserve. Explore various wildlife hotspots in the reserve and follow the migration trails for opportunities to witness various wildlife species and the spectacular wildebeest migration in Masai Mara National Reserve.

Spend your day looking for various wildlife species including; lions, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, and leopards among others in the vast Masai Mara wilderness. Lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic and safe spot in the reserve. After lunch continue with your adventure in the reserve. After your evening game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Morning adventure and Travel to Nairobi

At the break of dawn, enjoy a short adventure game drive in Masai Mara and later transfer to Nairobi. After your adventure, you’ll embark a transfer to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi and drive to your hotel. You’ll spend the rest of your day at your hotel relaxing.

Day 9: Fly to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda.

Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to Kigali. Upon arriving in Kigali, you can visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which commemorates the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The remains of over 250,000 people are interred there, and a visitor center provides educational resources for those wishing to understand the events leading up to the genocide.

You can also explore the Kandt House Museum of Natural History, located on Nyarugenge Hill in Kigali. This museum, managed by the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda, is dedicated to the natural history of the region and was formerly the home of German resident Richard Kandt.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Uganda From Rwanda, you’ll drive up to the Cyanika border post. At the border, you’ll complete your immigration procedures and then continue with your drive to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Arrive at Bwindi in and proceed with a drive to your booked safari lodge. Arrive at the lodge and check in. While here, you’ll have the first glimpse into the unique Bwindi Ecosystem, and witness the beautiful forest while resting at your lodge. For the more adventurous, there are several optional activities like guided natures walk, birding, and cultural tours which can all be done at an extra cost. Day 11: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today, you indulge in the deep jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Start your day early in the morning with a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, head to the park headquarters where your gorilla trekking adventure starts. At the park headquarters, you’ll join groups of other trekkers for a gorilla trekking briefing session. Park officials will take you through the gorilla trekking rules and guidelines, safety tips during gorilla trekking, and what to anticipate during the trek.

You’ll then be put into groups of 8 members, each group will then be allocated a gorilla family that they will be trekking. After the allocation, grab your trekking stack and follow the lead of your driver guide into the forest to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. The forest also has several other forms including mammals, birds, and plants that you’ll discover during your trek. After a long trek in the forest, you’ll finally locate the gorillas in the forest. At this moment, brace yourself for one of the best wildlife encounter ever.

Your ranger guide will guide you on how to approach these majestic giants. Enjoy viewing these primates in their natural habitat as they go by their day, witness mothers grooming their young ones, as they feed, all under the watchful eye of the giant silverback. You’ll spend about one hour viewing these majestic primates. After your allocated time elapses, you’ll trek back to the starting point.

You’ll receive a certificate of participation. Your driver guide will then take you back to your lodge where a refreshing meal will be served. After lunch, embark on a cultural experience, visit the Batwa communities. These long inhibitors of the Bwindi Forests are known for their unique culture and way of life. Enjoy interacting with them, participating in cultural performances, and learning about their medicinal plants among others. After your experience, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
