Detailed itinerary of the 9 Days Uganda Safari – Gorilla trekking, Chimpanzee tracking & Wildlife
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
You’ll be picked up from the hotel by your guide in Kampala/Entebbe, who will brief you about the 9 days Uganda safari and then start the trip. Embark on your journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Tracking. Rhinos are one of the iconic Big Five species on Uganda Holiday Trips, living among other fauna like warthogs, baboons, monkeys, and vibrant birds.
After tracking, have lunch and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Check into the park and continue to visit the top of the falls. At the top of Murchison Falls, you will find it so amazing with the picturesque view of the Nile River with its hitting falls. Take as many photos as you can, observing the strongest waterfalls in the world. After continuing with a drive to your hotel, check in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive & boat cruise at Murchison Falls
Have breakfast and get ready for a morning game drive. During the Early morning game drive, you will be able to sight as many animals as possible such as Lions, Elephants Buffalos, Giraffes, antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, jackals and birds.
After the game drive, return to the lodge, refresh, and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. On the boat cruise, which takes about 2-3 hours, you will be able to see various animals, including crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffalo along the banks of the River Nile. Bird species such as the bee eaters, the colored kingfisher, and many more. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of the Murchison falls. When you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls. During the times when the water levels are low, you can then take a hike to the top of the falls. Transfer back to the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
Have morning breakfast at lodge then check-out. Go to the top of the Murchison Falls and then have a short gam drive as you exit the park. Continue with the drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Have lunch in Fort Portal en route to the park. Arrive in the park by evening and connect to your lodge for check-in and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This is the day to trek wild chimps! Wake up early for your breakfast. Carry some drinking water with you to rehydrate during the long hikes. You will be picked from your hotel for a transfer to the headquarters of Kibale National Park which is starting point. Enjoy a traditional dance from the local communities after being briefed about the trek into the jungles.
Search for the chimpanzees in their natural habitat while spotting several other flora and fauna. On finding the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them while you take pictures and ask the guide any questions of your interest.
Return to the lodge to refresh and have lunch. Later on, begin your 3 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Game drive & boat cruise on the Kazinga channel
From your hotel, have breakfast and go for an early morning game drive in the Queen National Park savannah plains. Have an opportunity to see several wildlife species, including lions, elephants, kobs, antelopes, and many more. After about 4 hours searching through several trails, you will then head back to the lodge for lunch before going for an evening boat cruise.
The boat cruise on the Kazinga channel is famous for being very rewarding with wildlife sightings. Enjoy the boat cruise and spot as much as you can during this experience. After the boat cruise, have a short sunset game drive enroute to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: A game drive in Ishasha sector, then transfer to Bwindi
Rise up early by 5:00am the following day, enjoy a sweet breakfast, and go for a game drive in the Ishasha Sector to see the iconic tree-climbing lions of Uganda. Explore the acacia woodlands and plains for Big Cats (lions, leopards). Later, continue to Bwindi with arrival in the evening and head straight to your lodge to check in, later dinner, and overnight
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
Have early morning breakfast, carry a packed lunch, and head to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park headquarters. On arrival, an early morning traditional dance lights up your mood and prepares you for gorilla tours. Thereafter, go to the jungle for gorilla trekking starting from 8:00 am.
Trek through the forest on a gorilla search that lasts about 2 to 4 hours or more, depending on where the mountain gorillas have spent their night. On meeting with the mountain gorillas, you spend a maximum of 1 hour seeing the elusive giants interact within their family and playfully live within the bamboo forest. During the 1 hour, you can take as many pictures and record videos using your non-flash photography camera.
After the 1 hour with the mountain gorillas, you trek back to the park headquarters. Receive a congratulatory certificate at the park headquarters and then transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, where you will relax, have dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Have breakfast at the lodge, then leave Lake Bunyonyi for a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch in Mbarara City, then proceed to the park foran evening game drive to see diverse wildlife species such as zebras, giraffes, birds, antelopes, and others.
Day 9: Game drive and return to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast, you take a morning game drive to the park for more wildlife sightings in Lake Mburo’s magical savannas. Later on, check-out of the park and start the journey to return back to Kampala. Have a stop at the Equator for photography en-route to Kampala. Drop off at agreed point by your Uganda safari guide.
