Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

From your preferred pick-up point, your driver guide will be ready to pick you up to start your 8 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari. From Kampala or Entebbe, start your journey to Kibale National Park, which takes about 5 hours.  Lunch will be enjoyed along the way.

After lunch, continue your journey to the park, arriving in the afternoon. Check into your pre-booked lodge nestled amidst the lush green surroundings, and unwind with a relaxing evening at leisure.

Learn the essential dos and Don’ts to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. You will then embark on a guided walk in groups of 8, accompanied by an expert ranger. Venture into the lush forest, which is home to a diverse array of primates which including baboons, monkeys, and chimpanzees, being the most sought after in the forest. Upon locating a chimpanzee family, spend an unforgettable hour observing these intelligent creatures up close and capture stunning photos, and create lifelong memories. Return to the starting point where you will receive a debrief and be awarded a certificate commemorating your chimpanzee trekking adventure.

After a delightful lunch at the lodge, embark on an exciting swamp walk in the Bigodi wetland, a renowned habitat for diverse monkey species. This guided excursion offers the opportunity to spot elusive creatures, including the Red-tailed monkeys, Black and white Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, Baboons, among others. The journey takes you through the picturesque landscape of southwestern Uganda. Stop for lunch along the way and then continue to Bwindi National Park arriving late afternoon. Check in to your cozy accommodation surrounded by lush forest and unwind after the journey. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing, preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Today’s the day! Enjoy an early breakfast then set off with packed lunch to the visitor center where gorilla trekking journey begins. At 08:00AM, participate in a comprehensive briefing covering essential guidelines and etiquette for gorilla trekking. Divide into groups of 8 and then meet your experienced ranger and allocated a gorilla family.

Remember to park enough water and snacks for the trek, insect repellent, sunscreen, rain gears (just in case) and comfortable hiking shoes. Embark on the unforgettable 3-7 hour gorilla trek through the impenetrable forest and upon locating your gorilla family, you will spend a magical hour observing these majestic creatures up close. Capture stunning photos (without flash) and cherish the experience.

After the trek, return to the briefing point for debriefing and receive a certificate commemorating your gorilla trekking adventure.
